I know its been a while! I have been so busy here at the farm. Lacey is doing fantastic!!! A friend of mine and I are in the talks to do two different expeditions next year. We will be searching for the Roger's Rangers treasure and for Bigfoot here in Vermont. I have been doing a ton of research on Roger's Ranger. We will be doing our search next year. This winter will be tons and tons of research! I can't wait. I'm also going to be doing a great deal of photography next year. I want to start looking for critter and plants that are becoming extinct or animals here in Vermont that are not seen very often. Like for instance, it is rare to see a flying squirrel in Vermont cause they are mostly nocturnal. But just the other day I had one in my hands. The next critters I would like to look for is the Mountain Lion, the Wolf and the Timber Rattlesnake. I have seen two in my life so I know they are here. I mean the rattlesnakes. Wow! I can't believe how busy I have been! Well that is up for now. Have a great Thanksgiving!!!
Sierra I just wanted to let everyone know that I have started a brand new blog called Frye Farm Antics. It is all about my stories with all of the different animals I work with. Being they are domestic or wild. I really want people to see how animals are through my eyes. I hope you will find much enjoyment out of them. You can just hover over the the pic above and you will go straight there. Let me know what you think about it I would love to hear from you!
Badger Smiles I have been having a hard time as of late. I have a blood disorder called (forgive the spelling) Thalasemia Beta. It is a blood anemia where your red blood cells are smaller than normal. So side effects from it are anemia, fatigue, spots in the eyes pressure in the head, chest pain/anxiety and those are constant. People with Thalasemia Beta have a real hard time taking iron supplements because the cells can not absorb the iron like normal people and it is harder to maintain. Blood transfusions are the one thing you should absolutely use as a last resort. Doing everything naturally is best. I will be putting together a page all about it for those who don't know about it or are finding out that they have it. Thanks for stopping by!
Badger Smiles Yesterday was some of the most exciting news I have gotten in a long time! The farrier told me that Lacey has years not days left from her Navicular disease! We have Lacey on supplements, bute and corrective shoeing. It finally all kicked in and was awesome! So I can now start riding her! I'm so glad that I don't have to put my best friend down. We are also picking up Cappy from Milton, Vermont from the Horse Hospital there. That hospital is fantastic and I will bring my horse there again if I have to. Well I have to go and pick up Cappy. I will be on tomorrow and let you know how the girls are doing.
Badger Smiles Wow am I having a really bad month! My just found out that I have to put my wonderful horse Lacey down! I haven't been able to stop crying for over a week now. Lacey, we found out, has navicular syndrome. Lacey is an 8 yr old Quarter Horse/Standardbred mare. And because she is so young it is hereditary. So we have her on supplements and bute (horse aspirin) twice a day until we have to put her down. We want her to live out as much of the summer as we can before we do put her down. The other horse that is hurt is my friends horse Cappy. She is a 16 year old Morgan mare. She has right sided facial paralysis. She got it from having arthritis in her face. They think she hit her head somehow and aggrivated the gruttal pouch. Its all very complicated and I plan on doing a series of Vlog's to show everyone the proceedures and everything associated with it. Cappy and Lacey are barn mates and trail buddies so this has been difficult for them as well. Cappy should be coming home early next week and then Kathy and I are going to be doing TTouch with her for therapy. That I will be explaining in my Vlog's. So stay tuned if your a horse person cause you will learn a lot. If you have any questions or comments or have gone thru this as well please contact me and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help these wonderful gals out! Let's stay positive and keep our hooves crossed!
Badger Smiles Well I had a wonderful surprise this morning. I was out checking on the cows and discovered a new calf! A little girl. Over Easter Weekend we had another calf born and that one too was a little girl. I named her April. So this year we will only have 4. One bull and three heifers! I will have new pics soon!
Badger Smiles I can't believe that it has been almost two months since I have left a note on here. Shame on me! Well I do have some exciting news to tell you. I have been busy for the past week in making Deer Antler Smoking Pipes. You can order them in the Sierra's Creations page. Also for a short time if you download this card below and send it to me with your order you will get 10 percent off of your first order. These pipes were very fun and exactly the kind of outlet I need to keep myself stress free and mind at ease. These pipes are my first and they are all unique and I will have many more to come next week. PLEASE let me know what you think of them. I hope everyone has a quite, safe and wonderful Easter/Passover Weekend!
Badger Smiles This morning I got on the computer and looked at my dashboard at Smashwords.com and saw that my book Journey within my Soul has gone over 100 downloads!! I'm so very excited and can't believe that it has happened. People must really like my work. I know its not 1000, but to have 100 people download my book that are strangers to me is very exciting! Thank you to all of you who did so and I appreciate it! I have put a few new animal photographs up. And I see that I need to weed out some of my pics because I have exceeded my limit for the free service here. That is fine. Its fun to work on my website and share my happy times with you folks. I hope that it give you all a little bit of peace and happy thoughts as well. Today I'm going to be making a blind so my boss and I can sit out and take better pictures of the wild birds that visit our feeders. I have also taken an intrest in taking pics of tracks in the snow and mud. And I have quite a few that I will be sharing with you all as soon as I figure out which pictures I want to get rid of. Well I have to get to work and do the chores. The stalls are not going to clean themselves out. Talk to you soon!
Badger Smiles This morning I'm sitting here at the computer at the farm. I'm getting ready to bare the cold and do some chores. I have been enjoying all of the birds that we have gotten here this year. They have also been helping me with my life. I see everything as little messages now and it helps out soo much. I'm learning a great deal from a now deceased man named Ted Andrews. He is fantastic and I love and appreciate his work. Its nice knowing that I'm not the only person out there who believes that things that I believe. Opening up this part in my life again has helped me deal with my bi polar and to be a better person, mother, and animal communicator. I just love doing this work. It keeps me thinking and staying on the right track!
Oh! If you like the actor Jay Tavare you should go and check out his website. He tweeked it recently and is doing a fantastic job! I can't wait for his new CD to come out called Tears of a Shaman! I have been doing a lot of research lately on Nature messages and I have also been doing some soul searching on whether to right about my childhood or not. I'm not sure if I want to write and autobiography or write a novel. Not sure I'm still thinking about that one. Well chores are not getting done this way so off to the barn I go! Thanks for stopping by and I will talk to you all soon! Badger Smiles |
