Wow am I having a really bad month! My just found out that I have to put my wonderful horse Lacey down! I haven't been able to stop crying for over a week now. Lacey, we found out, has navicular syndrome. Lacey is an 8 yr old Quarter Horse/Standardbred mare. And because she is so young it is hereditary. So we have her on supplements and bute (horse aspirin) twice a day until we have to put her down. We want her to live out as much of the summer as we can before we do put her down. The other horse that is hurt is my friends horse Cappy. She is a 16 year old Morgan mare. She has right sided facial paralysis. She got it from having arthritis in her face. They think she hit her head somehow and aggrivated the gruttal pouch. Its all very complicated and I plan on doing a series of Vlog's to show everyone the proceedures and everything associated with it. Cappy and Lacey are barn mates and trail buddies so this has been difficult for them as well. Cappy should be coming home early next week and then Kathy and I are going to be doing TTouch with her for therapy. That I will be explaining in my Vlog's. So stay tuned if your a horse person cause you will learn a lot. If you have any questions or comments or have gone thru this as well please contact me and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help these wonderful gals out! Let's stay positive and keep our hooves crossed!
